South Centre Road Reconstruction

The project scope required the re-construction of a 400 metre section of South Centre Road from the Melbourne Airport Business Park boundary to approx. 100 metres south of the Skye Road roundabout. Replacement of existing distressed asphalt and damaged road pavement due to combined impact of asphalt oxidation, water ingress and damage from heavy vehicle traffic.

Profiling and replacement of a 3,300m2 area with heavy duty 110mm deep SI pavement and 50mm deep 14H asphalt wearing course under live traffic conditions. The works required traffic management during night works, services location and included additional sections of asphalt shoulder widening works to provide for safe truck parking zones.
