PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Customs House Substation Installation project at Melbourne Airport aimed to deliver a cutting-edge energy infrastructure solution to meet the growing power demands of the region. As part of the expansion, a 2.5 MVA HV kiosk substation and a 4000 A LV pillar were installed to ensure efficient and scalable power distribution. The project was pivotal in integrating advanced power systems into Melbourne Airport’s existing network while preparing for future expansions.
Eifers Civil played a central role in the successful execution of this project, handling responsibilities such as:
Supply and installation of all HV, LV, and communication conduits.
Supply & installation of all HV, LV and Communication precast pits. Development of management plans (environmental, traffic, safety) to ensure seamless operations.
Coordination with Melbourne Airport for required permits, outages, and approvals.
Provision of amenities (toilets, offices, lunchrooms) to support on-site workers.
Development and submission of As-Built documentation and Operation & Maintenance manuals.
