Melbourne Airport Forward Command Post

Eifers was contracted by Melbourne Airport to aid in relocating the Forward Command Post (FCP) to the northern end of the airfield. The new location was situated in an existing drainage area which required removal of sludge, the installation of a geo-fabric layer and compaction of Class 3, 20mm crush rock.

Piers holes for the structure were drilled and concreted. Once cured, we were able to assemble the structure with new plumbing, and the drainage was re-connected into the existing line. Our team were required to maneuver around the existing low voltage conduit channels all whilst the airfield was live and operational.

Working within an operational airport can be challenging, especially one as busy as Melbourne Airport. Fortunately, we have years of experience working day and night on projects such as these in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane airports.
